Money in the Shackles is named thusly:

Copper Pinch: Usually referred to as simply a pinch (plural and singular), dropping “copper”. Calling multiple copper coins “pinches” elicits laughs and painful tweaks on the arm or backside.

Silver Shilling: Pirates often melt a hole in the middle of their shillings and wear them around their neck to prevent pickpockets.

Piece of Eight: Worth a single gold coin, a Piece of 8 is a roughly octagonal gold coin that can be split in order to make change.

Platinum Crown: Occasionally referred to as simply a crown, dropping “platinum”.
